The Dream
Where it all began…
At Lucky’s Barbershop, our story is built on a foundation of grit, transformation, and relentless hard work. Dustin’s journey began at 18, first as a contractor in the mines, and later building industrial engines with Caterpillar and managing a dredging operation. Years of hard labor and dedication shaped his character, but eventually, Dustin knew it was time for a change.
Fueled by an innate drive to pursue something more and a deep passion for cutting hair, Dustin pivoted to barbering. He worked part-time as a mechanic while attending barber school, determined to make his dream a reality. After earning his license, he spent a year cutting hair from home before discovering the original location of Lucky’s—a place he and his brother transformed from the ground up.
In 2019, Lucky’s Barbershop officially opened its doors, blending the craftsmanship of Dustin’s past with his newfound passion. At Lucky’s, we’re more than just barbers—we’re builders, dreamers, and survivors.
The Pandemic
It’s never easy!
After four months of pouring every last cent into renovating our new space, Lucky’s Barbershop proudly opened its doors in February 2019. But not even a year later, the world shut down. When COVID hit, we were forced to close the shop we had just brought to life.
We had invested everything into Lucky’s, so giving up wasn’t an option. That’s when the idea for the Lucky’s Mobile Barbershop was born. We hit the road, bringing fresh cuts straight to our clients’ doorsteps—no need to leave the street. It was an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind experience that truly defined that era.
But then, another blow: our mobile barbershop was stolen. We were devastated. Still, that wasn’t the end of our story. Word spread across social media and local news, and the support from the community was overwhelming. Familiar faces returned, and new ones walked through our doors. Lucky’s began to bounce back, and what felt like a turn for the worst became the beginning of something even better. We’ll always be grateful for the love and support that helped keep Lucky’s alive.But even more than that, Margherita’s is built on the foundation of the largest family of all—the community. Our customers aren’t just guests—they’re family. It’s because of their loyalty and support that we’ve come as far as we have, and we are forever grateful for the role they play in our story.

Waxahachie here we come!
Lucky’s Barbershop in Midlothian, TX was finally hitting its stride and gaining serious momentum. Thanks to that success and a bit of unexpected funding from a serious car accident Dustin was in, we had the opportunity to grow. That growth led us to open our second location in Waxahachie, TX.
We found the perfect spot in a great community, but just like our first shop, it needed some serious love before it could become the barbershop we envisioned. With long nights, a hardworking crew, and the unwavering support of family, Dustin brought the second Lucky’s location to life. This new space didn’t just give us room to cut more hair—it allowed us to expand into something bigger. We’re proud to now offer an on-site tattoo parlor and esthetician services, making Lucky’s a true full-service barbershop for both men and women.
